We sold Ed's drums tonight. Craig's list. This is good, but very painful. I gave him those drums ten years ago, a combination birthday/Christmas/Valentine's day gift. The girls love to play them. Ed loves to play them.

The girls don't yet know they're sold (getting picked up on Sunday). I will tell them some time between now and then. Ed is very sad. I'm sad because he's sad. The girls will be sad. And then I shall follow suit for them as well.

I said to Ed, "If the worst heartbreak the girls have during this whole nightmare is the loss of those drums, then we did okay."
He agreed.

The falling away is painful. Hopefully, more shall fall away, and I will learn from the pain.

My aunt just hired me to help her company restore documents and artifacts.
I start tomorrow.
Local, flexible. I could not ask for a better option.
Don't ask me why I never thought to ask my aunt for a job before she offered.

So I spammed the University today and overloaded our server (we are hosted). It simply did not occur to me that sending one email to about 600 address at once would be a problem. Ed got a call from Server Man, his paying customers were not pleased to be unable to log on, but he was cool about the Accidental Spamming. I asked Ed, "Did you tell the guy that your wife has frequent episodes of stupid?"
Heh. I'm so 40 years old.

We are home.

Much fun was had by all.

Mountains of laundry, a dirty house, little food (as I neglected those duties before our trip).

Glad to be home now.

Recouping in anticipation of our summer schedule (it's something of a doozy, but in a good way) beginning on Monday.

Grateful for the experience of the past week.
